Solutions for Hiatal Hernia

This is
a problem that afflicts many people, who are unaware of the source of
their discomfort. While the symptoms are uncomfortable: Difficulty swallowing,
acid reflux, indigestion, shortness of breath and pressure in the chest,
the long-term results are equally unpleasant, namely starvation! The
Hiatal Hernia is the beginning of starvation for a simple reason, it
is a challenge related to the stomach's position and when the stomach
can't receive food correctly the entire process of nutrition is affected,
for the worse.
The first
thing you need to understand is what a hiatal hernia is. It is all about
the stomach not being quite where it should be. Essentially the torso
houses two major groups of organs. In the upper section are the organs
of metabolism, the heart and lungs, and in the lower are the digestive
organs, stomach, pancreas, liver and so on. Digestion is messy just
like a kitchen can be a messy place, so to protect the sensitive heart
and lungs the two sections are separated by a springy smooth muscle
called the diaphragm. This serves numerous functions, but being a wall
that keeps the organs in their places is foremost in its responsibilities.
Just like
any town wall the diaphragm has its gates, and one of those is where
the esophagus passes through on its way between the mouth and the stomach.
The hiatal hernia begins when the smooth muscle seal surrounding the
esophagus starts to loosen and then rip, due to various reasons: Overeating,
chronic smoking, poor sitting posture, pregnancy, nutritional deficiencies
or excessive weight. Now part of the stomach moves upwards through the
opening.
The stomach
is a flexible sack that expands and shrinks as needed but the diaphragm
is meant to clamp around the rib-reinforced esophagus. When the flexible
stomach passes through this constrictive gasket it's pinched. Now instead
of having of one big stomach, they now have a little stomach above the
diaphragm and a slightly larger one below. This causes indigestion,
acid reflux, gas, poor digestion and assimilation.
Meanwhile,
since the stomach is pushing up the esophagus will become kinked, causing
problems with swallowing. Since both are in the wrong place they'll
lean against other organs. This can cause shortness of breath, weakened
heart and suppressed immunity.
Obviously
the hiatal hernia is something to be avoided or repaired when encountered.
How do you avoid it? Don't smoke, don't overeat and take your supplements,
especially when you're pregnant. How do you repair it? That requires
two methods. First is an exercise that is done daily. Second are supplements
that calm and rebuild the area.
First thing
in the morning, on an empty stomach, pour yourself a large glass of
water. Add either a dropper full of liquid Stress J #, or 4 or 5 drops
of Lobelia essence #. Sip the water so that it bathes your throat and
fills your stomach. Wait about two minutes to give it a chance to relax
everything, and then stand up on your toes and then thump down on your
heels. You don't have to do it so hard that you think that you're going
to knock your teeth out, but it should be a good, solid thump. You're
using the weight of the water, gravity and the thumping to pull the
stomach back into its proper place. Thump about twenty times. While
you're thumping you can also massage down (not up) on your belly starting
at the notch just below your sternum all the way to you belly button.
Anytime
a person is suffering from the symptoms of a hiatal hernia they can
do this to get immediate relief. Also, if they suspect that their problems
are due to the hiatal hernia, the ability of this technique to give
them some instant relief, or not, will tell them if they are working
in the correct direction. It is estimated that forty percent of the
population suffer from some form of hiatal hernia.
Now here
are the very necessary nutritional strategies. Stomach Comfort # is
a chewable calcium product that gives instant relief for indigestion.
Use it as often as needed. Lobelia Essence# or Stress J liquid should
be used every morning prior to thumping. Liquid Chlorophyll # in drinks
or capsules helps lubricate and sooth the system. Raspberry Leaf # strengthens
and rebuilds the diaphragm. 4 to 5 capsules daily. Potassium Combination
#provides essential minerals to the health of the stomach. 3 to 4 daily.
l-Carnitine # (Three daily) and Collatrim # (5 to 6 daily) help rebuild
the stomach and diaphragm by providing essential protein building block
essential to smooth muscles.
The key
to resolving the hiatal hernia is consistent action. Muscles have memories,
so you need to thump daily for three to four weeks to retrain the muscles
of the diaphragm, esophagus and stomach back into their correct positions.
It took a long time for those muscles to get so weak that this could
happen in the first place, so you need to take your supplements consistently
over three to nine months, at least, to repair the damage. Remember,
the longer you take them, the better! Even once the symptoms have gone
away, unless you're going to change the life habits that caused the
problem, you need to keep your tools and techniques handy, because once
you get used to feeling better, you'll want more of that!
