6: Asking Your Body

By Drs. Ralph & Lahni DeAmicis MH's ND's

Muscle testing is an easy way to ask your body what herbs and supplements you need. It works through bypassing the conscious part of the nervous system and bringing your questions directly to the body’s subconscious, autonomic system. Since this is the part of the body that controls those important things like your heartbeat, breathing, immune response and digestion, it’s obviously pretty smart! It also doesn’t lie, because it can’t afford to!

The way your body answers your questions is simple; the truth makes you strong and lies make you weak. Beneficial herbs and supplements make you stronger and harmful substances make you weaker. Many healing systems use complicated variations of this technique, but here are a couple of easy muscle-testing methods that yield honest results consistently.

With both methods: Drink a glass of water before you test. While testing, don’t touch your tongue to the top of your mouth, don’t cross your arms or legs, don’t look directly at bright red or yellow or into someone’s eyes.

One-person testing method: Use a compass to find Magnetic North. Face that direction with your feet close together. Hold the bottle of product that you want to test over your solar plexus (The upper belly just below the breast bone). Close your eyes (or look down) and state out loud, “This is good for me.” If this is true your body will lean forward against the magnetic pressure coming from the North Pole. If it is not true, your body will either not lean forward or it will lean backwards. Prepare to be surprised the first time you do this.

When your body likes a product, repeat the process, stating this time, “I need one a day, two a day, three a day…” and so on. Your body will lean forward as you count, coming back to neutral only when you exceed the best amount.

Two-person method: The two people face each other. The person being tested (the subject) holds their left arm up and out to their side. With their right hand they hold the bottle of product over their solar plexus. The tester puts their right hand on the subject’s left arm about two inches above the wrist. They place their left hand on the subject’s right shoulder as a balancer.

Now the tester makes the statements, followed by the word “hold”. This is the sign for the subject to hold their arm up firmly against the pressure that the tester will now exert downward. While it is important for the subject to actively resist the pressure, this is not an arm wrestling match. The tester will not have to push hard to recognize weak and strong responses. With practice, they’ll be able to use the pressure from just two fingers.

Helpful Hint: When making the statements it is a good idea to double-check your responses. Start with, “This is good for you.” followed by, “Your body needs this.” Sometimes a product is good for you, but you don’t need it now. Other times it’s not good for you and you don’t need it. When your body says that it is both good for you and you need it, then the tester states how many the subject needs. “You need one a day, two a day, three, four…” and so on. The arm will stay strong until you exceed the best amount. That’s essentially all there is to it, except when the testing doesn’t work.

For the testing to be accurate the body’s electromagnetic field must be flowing in the correct direction. A number of things can disrupt and even reverse the flow: certain drugs, especially anti-depressants, electromagnetic fields, extreme mineral deficiencies and allergies. In that case, you’ll get either no answers because the system is locked in either a weak or strong response, or the answers will be reversed. To test whether the field is running in the correct direction using the two-person method, the subject holds their right hand, palm down over their hairline.

In that position, if their field is correct, their left arm should test strong. Next, they hold the back of their hand over their hairline. Now they should test weak. If the reverse is true their field is reversed. In the short term, this can be corrected by using a dab of Tei Fu Oil , or Peppermint Oil, to anoint seven spots. Starting in the front at the hollow at the base of the throat, go up in a straight line to the third eye, the hairline, the whorl at the top of the head, the large vertebrae at the base of the back of the neck, then on top of the flap in front of the left ear followed by the flap in front of the right ear.

Then wait a minute and retest. In the long-term the flow is corrected by supplementing with large amounts of alkaline minerals and high-energy herbs. Use a combination of the Mineral Chi drink, Coral Calcium (Reference the Chapter #7 the Foundation of Minerals) and pH Green Zone, on a daily basis, possibly aided by an enzyme like Food Enzymes, or Proactazyme Plus with each meal to maximize absorption.

This program may also help the ‘locked up’ person to rebalance their system. See the chapter on Muscle testing in our book ‘Good Health is Easy’ if you’d like to know other ways in which you can use this system. Remember, this technique is not telling you if the body has a disease. It is telling what herbs and supplements the body wants to eat to be healthy!
